There is no Bollywood-South divide anymore, feels Nidhi Subbaiah

Nidhi Subbaiah has had her part of struggle and now after tasting success down South, she is set to prove her acting talent in Bollywood. She made Bollywood debut as lead opposite Jackky Bhagnani in Ajab Gazabb Love, after making cameo appearance in OMG Oh My God.

Asked if her transition from South to Bollywood was difficult, she said, “There is no Bollywood-South divide anymore. It has become the Indian film industry where actors, directors and producers work together. I speak Hindi very well.

People know me in the South as I have worked there for three-and-a-half years. Leaving that, to start afresh in Bollywood was difficult, but you have to adapt to situations if you seek growth.” Now the actress have shifted her base in Mumbai, however she didn’t think it was a right step to take before Waheeda Rehman came to her help.

“Yes, I have base in Mumbai and I owe it to Waheeda Rehman. She was on my flight from Bangalore to Mumbai last November. She may not remember this, but while collecting my luggage, I told her that I was a fan. She looked at me and said, 'You have a beautiful face, you must pursue a career in Bollywood as an actress'. I packed my bags and here I am.”
