Ileana D’Cruz, who stepped into Bollywood with superhit film Barfi, is on cloud nine! It is known to everyone that Barfi has been sent as Oscar entry from India and Ileana is just proud to be part of the team and says it was an honour and privilege and a matter of pride to get an official entry to the Oscars.

"Barfi has received an overwhelming response from the audience and the critics. The news of being selected as India's entry to the Oscars is an honour and a privilege and a matter of pride for the Barfi team," Ileana's spokesperson told the sources.

The Film Federation of India (FFI) shortlisted some critically acclaimed films, including Paan Singh Tomar and Kahaani, but Barfi was selected to represent India in the Best Foreign Language Film category. So far in the history of Indian cinema, only three Bollywood films, including Mehboob Khan's Mother India (1957), Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay (1988) and Ashutosh Gowariker's Lagaan (2001), have made it to the nomination stage.

Directed by Anurag Basu, Barfi features Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz among others! Way to go, Barfi team!

Sumona Chakravarti to be seen in Barfii

jjjjjjj
Sumona Chakravarti to be seen in Barfii!

If you all are fond of watching Natasha Kapoor aka Sumona Chakravarti from Bade Acche Lagte Hain then you will soon get to catch the lady on the big screen too.

Buzz has it that the actress has grabbed a cameo in Anurag Basu’s Barfi starring Ranbir Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Talking of it, Sumona said, "I know a lot is being written about how television actors waste themselves by doing tit-bit roles in movies (laughs). But I would like to say that my role is a cameo and I have known Anurag dada since a long time. So when he offered me the role I couldn't say no and did the film simply for Anurag dada. I knew the length of my role will be very small but I wanted to work with Anurag Basu.”

On her experience of working in her Bollywood debut, she responded, "It was my first film and I needed a guidance and trust me dada was always there for me. I believe I am a director's actor and I did whatever he told me to do in the film. Barfi is not a typical Hindi film. The film has more of reactions and reactions can't be scripted. I enjoyed each and every moment of working in the film".

While you enjoyed moments of film, we are also looking forward to enjoy your role in the film Sumona.

Priyanka Chopra is not behind the delay of Barfi, affirms Anurag Basu
There were rumours making rounds earlier on that Anurag Basu directed film Barfi was getting delayed earlier on because Priyanka Chopra was giving preference to the shooting of Krrish 3 first.

However Director Anurag Basu has denied any such reports. It is known that PC is playing the female lead in the movie that also stars Ranbir Kapoor. "Nothing is getting delayed because of her (Priyanka), she has given a lot of dates," said Anurag Basu at the success party of Onir's I Am.

"I have been denying it again and again but these reports keep cropping up. She has already finished her work, only two days work is left and it is merely a patchwork, it's me who wants to shoot in those two days," he added.

Barfi! stars Ranbir as a deaf-mute boy while Priyanka essays the role of an autistic girl. Telugu actress Ileana D'Cruz plays narrator. The shooting is almost over, said Basu and added: "These are speculations. The film is not getting delayed because of anyone. The film is almost complete, we are just waiting for the right date to be decided by UTV. Even I am waiting for that date."

Well we wish that you soon get the desired date Anurag!

I never wanted to get into modelling or acting, avers Ileana D'Cruz!
South actress Ileana D’Cruz, who is all set to make an entry in Bollywood with Anurag Basu’s forthcoming film Barfi, claims that she never intended to get into acting or modelling.

It is no more a news that the former model will next be seen in Barfi opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The beautiful actress reveals that life has took her in this field, otherwise she never planned to come in this industry at all.

Recently, while talking to the sources, she said, "My first break was for an advertisement that gave me a lot of exposure. And films followed. I actually never wanted to get into modelling either. I was a complete tomboy. You'd never see me wearing skirts. I happened to meet Marc Robinson in Goa. He felt I could be a good model. So, I gave it a shot."

There were also rumours of catfight between her and Priyanka on the film’s set, so on being asked if there is any truth in this, she retorted back, "I won't say we are good friends but we haven't fought for sure. We get along well. PC is an amazing person."

Meanwhile, Barfi director Anurag Basu also denied that the two actresses were unfriendly on set. Well, everyone would surely love to watch this beautiful actress on silver screen, and that time is not too far!
