With every passing week, the competition is getting tougher on the popular reality dancing show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 which is being judged by three ace personalities of tinsel town, Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D Souza.

The latest news doing rounds is that one of the contestants Pratyusha Banerjee (Anandi of Balika Vadhu) has stepped out of the show due to her ill health. People were wondering that how she would continue performing in the reality dance show with her illness.

Finally, she has been announced as the next contestant to get eliminated from the show. If believe the industry sources then her ill health is not only responsible indeed her performance has also paid an equally important role behind her elimination. Pratyusha was not getting good numbers from judges. Even last week her performance was not up to the mark consequently the tele star fell short on votes.

It is notable that Isha Shravani and Karanvir Bohra performed despite having viral fever but Pratyusha failed to perform as reportedly she had stomach infection. Now, speculations are on the rife that Avika Gor (young Anandi) might replace her on the show.

The popular dance show of Indian television Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 began with great pomp on 16th June on Colors channel. Being judged by Madhuri Dixit, Remo D’Souza and Karan Johar, JDJ 5 is celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema to honour the great icons of the Indian Film Industry this weekend.

This season is graced by celebs like Gurmeet Choudhary, Bharti Singh, Darsheel Safary and Giaa Manek as contestants. As said, the tribute to 100 years of cinema will see the celebs picking up Bollywood as the theme. You will get to see each one of them putting up a dancing act dedicated to some or the other iconic Bollywood venture.

Following the league, heartthrob of TV industry Gurmeet will be seen playing Devdas, of three generations in today’s episode. He will try to woo the audience and judges by playing the drunken hero with his choreographer Shampa.

The duo will perform together on the songs of Dilip Kumar’s Devdas, Shahrukh Khan’s Devdas and Abhay Deol’s Dev D. Sources further added that Gurmeet has chosen Chalak chalak and Emotional Atyachaar from Devdas and Dev D respectively but the sad part is that he has forgotten the original Devdas of the Indian Cinema K L Saigal.

Well, it’s like an icing on the cake that Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit will recreate the magic of Raj Kapoor and Nargis in a special performance.

 Sushil Kumar, who made history by winning five crores in Kaun Banega Crorepati, will now be trying his luck with dance.

Yes! Sushil Kumar would be seen as surprise package with his dancing shoes on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5. Buzz says that he would be the 13th contestant of the show. Judges Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza expressed that the 13th contestant would come as a surprise but would be a commoner who claimed the fame in a night.

"He is the 13th contestant on the show as a commoner. We wanted someone who is not a celebrity but has become popular by some or the other way. He won KBC and that reason was enough to have him on the show. He will be performing like other contestants,” a source revealed.

The other 12 contestants of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 5 as known already are Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, Ghazal singer Talat Aziz, child actor Darsheel Safary, actress Isha Sharvani, Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan, comedian Bharti Singh, TV actors Giaa Manek, Pratyusha Banerjee, Gurmeet Choudhary and VJs Shibani Dandekar and Archana Vijaya.

JDJ 5 indeed opened with a grand performance from all the celebrity participants and now the eyes are laid on the entry of Sushil. Let’s see how he performs as a dancer now!

Now this young lady who is always seen in traditional ghaghra-choli and Indian wear but for dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5, she will wear skimpy skirts and believes her slim frame won't make her to look vulgar. "I think all Bahus (daughters-in-law) should turn glamorous somewhere down the line so that she can prove that she's not only Biwi No.1, she can be the girl number one as well," Pratyusha says.

Are the viewers will accept her in such looks and dresses, upon this she said "I think our viewers will love it. If they love me as Anandi, they will love me as Pratyusha as well. Besides, I am not wearing anything loud that I'll look vulgar. Thankfully, I'm too skinny to look vulgar in any kind of clothes. And I am sure people will take my look positively,"

Pratyusha is among the 12 celebrity contestants of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this season. It is a new experience for her in terms of learning western dance forms, as well as an attempt to break out of Anandi's mould.

Gurmeet has a huge fan following and his ardent fans are eagerly waiting with bated breath to catch their stunning star showing off his dancing skills. As we know about the format of Jhalak, each celebrity contestant is paired along with one seasoned choreographer. Gurmeet has choreographer Shampa Sonthalia as his partner. Shampa was a part of Jhalak’s last season as well wherein she paired opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

During a candid chat, when sources quizzed Gurmeet about balancing rehearsals, shooting and married life, he said, “Rehearsals are going great. I am blessed with an amazing choreographer and we are trying our level best to deliver.”

Gurmeet further added, “One fine day Debina Bonnerjee joined us on the rehearsals and it was the most disastrous day as two ladies came together and made me dance on their finger tips. Ek taraf debina, ek taraf Shampa and bich mein main akela Champa (exploded laughing).”

He is hopeful that his fans would support him in this new task he has undertaken and will shower him with the same love and appreciation! They’ll indeed do it Gurmeet!
