The entire film and TV industry is uniting and voicing in support of Aamir Khan's popular show Satyamev Jayate airing on Star Plus.

Now, the latest entrant in this vogue is veteran TV and film actor Dalip Tahil, who has been a part of the TV scene over years now and is renowned for his performances in Buniyaad in 1987 and The Sword of Tipu Sultan in 1990. He has also acted in over 100 movies and his recent outings included Ra.One and Azaan.

While talking about Satyamev Jayate, 61 year old Dalip shared, "It is absolutely fantastic as Aamir is tackling issues which are of great concern to an average Indian. I wish there was more socially relevant television around. These issues need to be looked at with greater depth."

"Look he may not solve all the problems but his presence on television does bring more awareness on the subject," feels Dalip who has shared screen space with Aamir in movies like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988.

Pointing out the fact that the medical community is up in arms against Aamir for painting the entire doctor fraternity in bad light, Dalip said, "Aamir did not say that all doctors are bad. They may say what they want but the truth is that there are many cases of medical negligence and plus, there is no major action taken against doctors who are not properly qualified to practice medicine."

Well said Sir!

Mr. Perfectionist is up for a cause and he has chosen TV as the medium to let his thoughts reach every countrymen, be it a star or a commoner, he wants all to unite and work towards the betterment of the society.

As known, the first episode of his very much hyped Satyamev Jayate aired on Star Plus made the world focus on the issue of female foeticide, which has a shocking figure in India. Moving on, the second episode dealt with another of heart wrenching crime, child abuse.

Though the issue had generated a lot of excitement but it was made all the more special for one of the victims of child abuse who was present on the sets. As per reports, Harish Aiyer, a sufferer of child abuse, narrated to host Aamir Khan the incidents of his unpleasant past, and said how cinema and his pet helped him get over his trauma.

Harish even mentioned that his favorite actress is Sri Devi and he was more than happy when Aamir organized for Sridevi to be on the show. This indeed came as a pleasant surprise for Harish who had never imagined that he would get a chance of meeting the person he admires so much. Sridevi chatted with him once the show was over, and Harish hasn't been more thrilled ever since.

Other than the tears Aamir brings in all eyes with his Dil pe lagne wali baat, we guess he even knows how to change them into smiles!

About 100,000 people dialed in to chat live with Aamir Khan
Everything about Aamir Khan is incredible and when he makes his debut on television, it again has to be very special and this is the way it has turned out to be.

It is learnt from the sources that as the first episode of the superstar's debut TV show Satyamev Jayate was aired, about 100,000 people dialed in to speak to him to initiate a serious discussion on social issues facing the nation.

Out of approximately 100,000 people who made the effort of calling in to share their views about the show through the Airtel Talk2me, only around 10 or 11 were actually able to speak to Aamir due to time constraints, said a source from telecom company Airtel, which is facilitating the SMS and dial-in procedures for Satyamev Jayate. Revenue from each SMS will be donated to charity.

Nevertheless, Aamir engaged in quality discussions with the callers. He shared views on social activist Anna Hazare's movement against corruption, took up issues regarding female foeticide - the doctors who conduct sex determination tests and abort the girl child, and how the medical system of the country fails to take any action against such law breakers.

Though a lot of people tuned in to watch the show, and subsequently took to social networking platforms to share their views on it, Aamir says Television Rating Points (TRPs) do not matter.
