Link many of the B-town stars, actress Prachi Desai too has a lot to owe to TV when it comes to name and fame.

It is notable that Prachi, who is now dabbling into films, made her acting debut playing Bani in Balaji Telefilms’ extremely popular Kasamh Se, which went on air in 2006. Later, she won the attention from all as she won the coveted title of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in the following year, 2007.  

This eventually brought in a change in fortune for her and the pretty faced soon got a chance to shine on the silver screen. Prachi made her debut opposite Farhan Akhtar in the 2008 release Rock On and then went on being the love interest of Emraan Hashmi in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, which hit the screens in 2010. She is all full of offers and is presently working for her project I Me Aur Main where she will share the screen space with the likes of John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh.

Amidst this one might come up with a question if she will get back to TV ever. Well, the answer apparently is no. Prachi says that she has bid adieu to TV for good and has no plans of returning back. She stated, "I had bid goodbye to television, so I am not going back. But since I started from there and became famous because of TV, the connect always remains”.

Talking of her roles in the upcoming films, she said, “My role in every film is very different. I am so excited about the movies and just cannot wait to start with the promotions”.

Very often, it happens in the tinsel town that the onscreen performance of the Bollywood actors leaves a distinct impression in the minds of their enthusiasts and they start recognizing the stars with the characters played by them in the reel life.

The latest news making its way is that Bollywood diva Chitrangada Singh is experiencing the same phase. It is known that the talented lady won the hearts of audience by playing Geeta Rao in her debut Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, her outstanding performance has left an unforgettable impression in the minds of people that even after nine years they still recognise the actress with her on screen character; Geeta Rao.

A little birdie from the town informed that the actress is struggling hard to get over her nine years old image. On being quizzed, Chitrangada asserted, “I don't know if I have still managed to make people forget Geeta Rao and remember another character that I have played. I am still kind of struggling to get over it and make people remember me by something else that I have played. I think it's still the most special one”.

Presently, Geeta oops…Chitrangada is occupied with her forthcoming project I, Me aur Main featuring John Abraham and Prachi Desai in the lead roles. Her next upcoming is helmed by Sudhir Mishra opposite Arjun Rampal.

Television has always been a platform from where people move on for higher flights, after popular names like Rajeev Khandelwal, Prachi Desai, next one to make entry in Bollywood is Swati Kapoor aka Rachana from Star Plus' show Kaali-Ek Agnipareeksha.

The actress will make her debut in Aar’s production movie which has been tentatively titled as Uncle Jinny. The venture will also see some familiar faces like Tiku Talsania who will play a genie in the film, and Swati will be the lead actress. The movie is going to be a 3D entertainment.

Sources informed that the first schedule of the movie is finished and the second one would be over within a month’s time. When Swati was asked about it she proudly says, “Yes, I am thrilled about this project as it’s a 3D movie. Moreover, getting the opportunity to work with a veteran like Tiku Talsania is a big achievement. Though I can’t reveal the entire story of the movie all I can say is that it’s a sweet love story. It revolves around a boy who is a nerd and how a genie helps him impress the girl he likes.”
