Cannes is one big film festival which brings stars under one roof. Bollywood stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Arjun Kapoor and few others were invited to walk the red carpet of the event.

To everyone’s surprise, no one turned up at the red carpet and went missing. People who have always been waiting to get a glimpse of the eternal beauty of Bollywood Aishwarya Rai Bachchan could not see her anywhere at the festival. The other actors could also not be seen anywhere. The only actor from India who was seen walking the red carpet was Frieda Pinto who has very less to do with Bollywood.

Well, the Indian filmmakers are all set to make their presence felt at the event with their movies. Films like Miss Lovely (Un Certain Regard), Gangs of Wasseypur (Directors' Fortnight) and Peddlers (Critics' Week) will be featured at the festival.

The viewers will also witness a debate on “Multiplicities of Indian Cinema – Bollywood the tree obscuring the forest?”, which will be attended by Anurag Kashyap, Pierre Salvadori (SRF), Hubert Niogret (producer/film critic), Patrick Frater (journalist), Sunil Doshi, and Sudhir Mishra on Wednesday 23rd May, 2:30 pm.

There have been speculations about Shahrukh Khan’s abusive behavior at the Wankhede Stadium Mumbai, stating that the actor got into a brawl when he went to pick up his kids outside.

But what has the actor to say about it, is completely a different tale. Shahrukh said, “I will not deny the fact that I was abusive, but it started when this man abused me in Marathi. I went to pick up my children. I wasn’t there because I wanted to be on the field. When some people see a celebrity, they like to be obnoxious.”

When asked about him being banned from entering the Wankhede stadium, he said, “They should apologize to me. This is extremely high-handed behavior. Personally, if this is the kind of behavior meted out to people, I wouldn’t want to go there. Let them decide…extreme attitude of highhandedness.”

What angered the actor was the treatment that meted out to his kids. He said, “I am extremely disturbed that they should manhandle kids. They were leaving. You can’t get physical with little girls who are not even 13. How can they manhandle children?”

The actor has asked the MCA to apologize and we stand here for the actor. What say guys?

We have learned that initially Jiten opted against the role but later gave his nod.

The actor affirmed the news and said, "I have a very good rapport with the production house since Sasural Genda Phool days. So I really couldn’t say ‘no’ to the role. It's a very interesting character of Mahendra Pratap's secretary but the viewers have to watch it to know more about it,"

The latest buzz making way from Tellyworld says that Zee TV's Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli is set for a new drama. It is learnt that the makers Rajshri Productions have now decided to introduce a new character to grab more eyeballs.

Abir Goswami, who was last seen in Ammaji Ki Galli aired on SAB TV, will enter the show as Sushant, Viren's (Iqbal Khan) brother-in-law.

"I was looking forward to working with Rajshri Productions and especially in Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. I have auditioned thrice for Yahan Main... but somehow things didn't work out. Thankfully, this time round everything worked out nicely. I wasn't too sure if I would be able to play a negative role but I trust the production house completely. I'm all set to do full justice to the role," said Abir.

Now, here's the real dope that will unfold in the upcoming episodes of the daily. Abir has been roped into to play a negative character who will enter the Swarn Bhavan with an agenda in mind. He will try and impress Priyanka and will get inside the Swarn Bhavan.

Colors’ new show Kairi produced by Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Production Pvt. Ltd is bouncing its TRP straight to the top. As seen in last episodes the Subh-Sangam is airing which celebrates the wedding functions of Anuj aka Jay Bhanushali and Ambi aka Preeti Chaudhary.

However, one incident that took place on the sets made the entire unit to panic. As heard, the actors wrapped up shooting for the Mehndi sequence of Ambi and merrily went their way back home. After that the post production boys got busy to cut the scenes and prepare the episode which was to be sent to the channel. But there came a drama wherein an employee mistakenly pressed the "delete" instead of the "send" button.

The incident came as a big shocker for everyone as the entire footage got erased out of nowhere. They did not have a back-up as they shot it on HD. However, since the Mehndi sequence was to be aired on May 18, the team still had some time to re-shoot. And must say that they indeed finished it with the same dedication!

Source got in touch with producer Sumeet Mittal and he shared, "Yes, the telecast did get erased due to a mistake but we are trying to complete the shoot today."

Well, this is quite appreciable!

Two of Star Plus’ ideal bahus were roped in by the makers of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which has switched to Colors from Sony. Apparently, Giaa and Hina are highly famous as Gopi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Akshara from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai respectively. Thus their inclusion in the list surely guaranteed attention and hype for the show.

But things became a little troublesome as Star Plus warned them to withdraw their names. In fact, the officials had even went on the verge of asking Rashmi Sharma (maker of Saathiya) to replace Giaa if she as so keen on taking JDJ. The actors too faced some traumatic moments as on 16 May 2012, the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP) and CINTAA officials met up following complaints by the two actors of their plight to CINTAA. However, succor came from elsewhere: top officials from Colors and Star met and decided to come to a truce. They agreed on exchanging actors for non-fiction shows.

And the latest info is that both Giaa and Hina Khan are indeed a part of JDJ and they will continue to be the leads in Saath Nibhana and Yeh Rishta respectively.

Buzz states that they have roped in the beautiful and gracious Fenil Umrigar to play one of the girls.

Fenil has already appeared in shows like Maryada Lekin Kab Tak on Star Plus and currently she is seen as Priya in Life OK’s one of the top rated shows, Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhav.

In Gossip Girls, she will play the role of Sana, a simple Muslim girl who will aspire to be a footballer in future. Zee TV’s so far less acknowledged show Punar Vivah produced by Shashi Sumeet Mittal Production Pvt. Ltd is now getting bounteous response from its audience.

In the TAM ratings of week 19, Punar Vivah bagged 2.9 TVR. It has clearly emerged as the slot winner across GECs. Producer Sumeet jubilantly talked to the source and said, "The story is getting back to its emotional crust and hence, it is being liked by the viewers. Currently, we are concentrating on the story and not on the numbers. If the story works, numbers will automatically come”.

Heartthrob actor Gurmeet Choudhary aka Yash excitedly shared his notion and said, "I really feel lucky as this is my third show that has managed to be number one after Ramayan and Geet. I remember when I had taken up Geet, I wasn’t sure if it would top the numbers, however it did. But when I took up Punar Vivah the pressure was even more as people were expecting a lot from me. There were a lot of them who thought I shouldn’t have taken up the project but with the help of the entire team and our producers, the show has managed to top the chart."

Sources from the sets have informed that Daljeet, who has earned lot of fame playing the adorable character of Anjali, has put down her papers before the production house and is waiting to get a clearance call.

Reports state that Daljeet has bagged a meatier role in another of the TV show and this has made her move out of the existing one. Furthermore, sources say that she believes her character Anjali has its own limitations and she is not getting the platform to use her acting skills in the right directions. As of now the channel and production house are trying their level best to convince her to stay back.

Daljeet has been doing a fab job as Anjali and seeing a replacement for her would definitely be a difficult task. Now it has to be seen if Daljeet stays back or the CVs bring in a new twist in the tale.

Television actress Ojaswi Oberoi, who is now days seen playing the lead Meenakshi in Life OK’s Aasma Se Aagey, recently took a dig at reality shows and said that such shows up the stress levels among participants.

"I believe people think a lot today. They have become very ambitious. They forget that they have other responsibilities and personal lives. Somewhere they don't realise that they are going in the wrong direction and therefore get stressed," said Ojaswi, who was previously seen in Star Plus’ Behenein.

As we have seen in her new show, Ojaswi's character Meenakshi is a dreamer and enters a reality show to fulfill her dream. She admits she can relate to her character and said, "Meenakshi is a sweet, simple girl. She belongs to a financially weak family. She believes that she can achieve her dream."

"When I come into the get-up of Meenakshi, I really don't have to act. I am just like Meenakshi. I also dream a lot and believe that when you have faith in your life and in your destiny, you will achieve your dreams," she added.

The actress is a trained Kathak dancer and has performed worldwide. "I have 13 years of experience in Kathak and I enjoy dancing," she told the sources.

In order to help the show become the numero uno yet again, the creatives are busy churning out new twists and turns. As seen of late, Anita played by Ira Soni is living with the Modi family and is seen making efforts of winning Ahem (Mohammad Nazim) back in her life. While on the other end, Kokila (Rupal Patel) is leading towards a new path aiming to make Gopi (Giaa Manek) the ideal wife. And as the viewers must have seen, the always conspiring Rashi (Rucha Hasabnis) is the one who is helping Kokila in this mission of hers.

However, the show will soon take a new turn as during an argument between Kokila and Gopi, the family will get hold of a CD which will bring Rashi’s truth before all. A source said, ''What's ironic is the fact that Sonal was hydro phobic ever since she was a child and would completely avoid stepping into the water. She didn't want a stunt double to do any of her scenes and thus decided to take her fear head on. She started the initial bit of training with a world renowned scuba training instructor and will be completing the remainder of her training in Fiji. She's totally committed to making this work for her and her character.''

They have loved me as the Allahabadi Mrs Sharma in SAB TV’s Mrs. and Mr. Sharma Allahabad Wale and as Chinky in SAB TV’s Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story. But now they have seen enough of my variations and want to see me again as the innocent girl, as they feel this is the role that suits me the most. And frankly speaking, I have not done such shows for a long time now, and I am eager to get back to the usual grind. As an actor, I have explored quite a lot and am satisfied with my growth.”

DJ’s A Creative Unit production’s Choti Bahu on Zee TV is going off air. The show will bid adieu to viewers on 18 May 2012.

As reported, the show is all set to say goodbye as the channel has decided to pull the plug on it. Instead of distressing, the team has decided to make a happy ending for the show. Now, talking about the last two episodes it is going to be seen that Dev (Avinash Sachdev) and Rohan will come face to face and throw some jabs at each other.  Finally, Rohan will realize his mistakes and confess to all his misdoings.

On the other hand, Radha aka Shrishti Rode’s truth will be revealed before the family that she is not a human being but God. She will accept her defeat and will admit that Radhika aka Rubina Dilaik is Lord Krishna’s true devotee.

The team has been busy shooting its last episode on 17th May. Avinash Sachdev shared, “Yes, the show will definitely come to an end on a happy note. I can’t comment how it will happen. All I can say is that Dev and Radhika’s struggles will hopefully come to an end. It was great working with the team and it’s very disheartening that our show is coming to an end. I would not be able to meet my cast and crew.”

Sony TV’s Optimystix’s production Comedy Circus has been tickling the funny bones of the masses since 2007. And this laughter riot is all set to complete 300 successful episodes. Very well known for her gimcrack laugh Archana Puran Singh seems highly excited about the triple-crown development.

To commemorate the achievement, the makers will bring in every comedian who has been associated with the show since its first season. The key performers during this special episode will be Shweta Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola, Sharad Kelkar and Ali Asgar. They will be performing hilarious acts and gags. The judges, as we know, are Archana Puran Singh, Rohit Shetty and Sohail Khan. Shruti Seth will be the host for this glitzy evening.

When contacted comedian Rajesh Kumar regarding the episode, he said, “Yes, I am very much a part of 300th episode. We haven’t shot as yet so I can’t say what it’s going to be like but I am sure it will be great fun and old memories will get refreshed. Audience should gear up for loads of comedy.”

While speaking to sources he disclosed why he stayed away from television, “I had met with an accident in November 2011 wherein I had a ligament tear and the injury was really bad. I could hardly walk. Hence, I had to take a break from work. My surgery took place in February 2012 and later I recovered. So when Balika came my way, I said yes. I was away from tube because my health did not permit me to work”.

Further when asked what if his character clashes with Shashank Vyas playing Jagya on screen, he said “You just have to do your work honestly. But even then if you’re compared with someone, then I’d say let the best man win.”

Siddharth is a smart looking man who works with beautiful looking belles in different shows. So, doesn’t he get attracted to his co stars? “Just like in any other organization, when you work with different people, you gel as a team. Be it boys or girls, we hang out together and go out for coffee and watching movies. And amidst the bonding, if someone develops a feeling for someone, then there is no harm at all. And guess what? He has acute clarity about his characters, whether it's their walk, talk, mannerisms, body language, facial expressions etc. It becomes easy to work with such directors and you get to learn a lot. He is a gifted writer/director and the more you interact with him, the more you realize that”.

Parineeti went on saying, “Full credit to Habib Sir here since in real life, Arjun and I aren't Parma or Zoya. Perfectionist that he is, Habib Sir prepared us for the role through workshops and other sessions for four full months. We lived lives of Parma and Zoya and were just being them instead of playing them. We took these characters home and that's the reason why it all looks so effortless on screen. Honestly, a lot of hard work has gone in it and now I can safely say that it has paid off."

Contrary to what William Shakespeare had said, "What's in a name”, two of entertainment industry’s big names are hell-bent on reversing the adage.

Buzz has it that TV world’s renowned production houses, namely Balaji Telefilms and Jay Mehta Productions have entered into a tussle over the title of their respective shows. We have already brought this into your notice that both the production houses are churning out big budgeted shows for Zee TV. It was Balaji to first reveal out the name as Tere Ishq Nachaye. Does that remind you of something?

Well, you are right, just a day before the Jay Mehta show also came up with the same name. As heard, the show made under Balaji and co produced by writer Saba Mumtaz-Red Blue White Films has actors like Saraa Khan and Rajev Paul. It has been pushed till September 2012; hence the channel has given their title to Jay Mehta Productions as it will hit the floors earlier.

When Saba was contacted about the same, she said, "I really have no idea about this. Give me some time to figure out. But I don’t think this can happen as the title Tere Ishq Nachaye is registered with Balaji Telefilms and Saba Mumtaz."

Jay confirmed the title but showed his oblivion to Balaji also having the same title for their show! Let us now see who will finally win this Name War!

 Cezanne Khan became a household name as he played the extremely popular Anurag Basu in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasauti Zindagii Kay aired on Star Plus.

His on-screen chemistry with co-star Shweta Tiwari aka Prerna set the small screen on fire and the two are still adored by many of their fans. However, ever since Cezanne made an exit from Kasauti, one has been missing his presence on the tube.

Recently, when sources got in touch with the stunner, this is what he had to say in concern with his whereabouts: "I am enjoying my life. I am away from the small screen as I don't want to take up a role just for the sake of it. I want something that will create an impact in the minds of television viewers. I got offers, but I won’t take up any role for the sake of money. Acting is my passion and I want to do something convincing”.

He further continued, "I am happy spending time with my family. Apart from that, of and on I keep doing tele-serials (episodics) for GEO and Pakistan TV.”

When asked if he also feels the high level of competition around, Cezanne stated, "Yes, time has changed and things have changed. Lot of news faces have come in, but as they old is gold and demand for popular faces are still high”.

Many people call Cezanne as media shy but retorting back, he said, "I am not media shy; it’s just that I am nothing to share. When I will have, I will talk to everyone. I am waiting for some concrete role to come my way wherein I can showcase my acting abilities. It should fit my age, not very old or young. I want viewers to remember it. But I am thankful that fans still remember me as Anurag Basu”.

With Imagine TV shutting down unexpectedly, many of its shows also met the same end. But luckily, Chandragupta Maurya, which created a lot of buzz since it went off air, has managed to find a new channel ready to air it.

As we had last updated you, Sony TV has brought the rights of the show and is all willing to air the historical saga. But buzz even states that show’s lead, Ashish Sharma aka Chandragupta Maurya, won’t be a part of it as he has moved on with Jay Mehta's next on Zee TV.

While one was finding Jay Mehta’s show as the reason behind Ashish’s absence from Maurya, the actor refuted saying that his contract with the makers (Sagar Arts and 72 Degree Northe) would have come to an end. He added, "If the show would have continued, I would have hoped that it ended by my contract period so that I could chase my dream of producing short films”.

Ashish even said, "It was unfortunate that the show shut down. We were all working towards the part where Chandragupta would become the king. I am not sure if the show will come on another channel or not. Even if it does, it will not start before July and by then my contract would be over. I can’t continue for I have my above commitments which will get delayed by a year and a half and that is something which I can’t afford. I agree professional decisions are harsh to take but yet you need to go ahead with them”.

And if all goes well then the actor will again make his return on Star Plus only and that too with the same production house. Sources say that Karan has been offered a crucial role in DJ’s upcoming show on Star Plus. He will be seen playing the role of Kanwaljit Singh’s youngest son-in-law and his character’s name will be Jay, who will be very positive in nature. He will be modern in outlook and support his wife in all possible ways.

When sources got in touch with Karan, he said, "Yes, I have been approached for the role. It’s a very interesting one and I really liked it. But I can’t comment anything more as things are yet to get finalized."

But what may sound news to you is the fact that the show has all the chances of bringing in two leads. The show will see two leads; one character is of a well-educated person who is living the life of a farmer, while the other one will be of a polished guy.

If believe the sources then actor Shakti Anand is going to play the role of the simpleton. Shakti, who has turned producer with this show, has given the look test and if all goes as planned then he will essay the character of Garv, a guy with a rough look. And Mohit on the other end will play the smart looking Nikhil.     

When sources got in touch with Shakti, he rebuked the news and said, "I am just the producer on the show. I am not acting. I do not know from where you got this news."

Actress Deeya Chopra backing out of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms’ daily Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyein on Zee TV is not a new update for us. It was reported long back that the sultry Deeya is looking out for something new and is willing to opt out.

She was just waiting for the production house to get a suitable replacement and her wait seems to be over now. While speaking to the sources about her exit from the daily, she said, “15 May 2012 was my last shooting day on the sets of Mrs. Kaushik. It was a great experience to work with the entire cast of the serial. I will surely miss them. I have no complaints with the production house and I am quitting the show due to personal reasons. It was a hard decision to take but it’s time to move on in life. I don’t know who will henceforth essay my character but whoever it is, I would like to wish her all the luck.”

Furthermore, sources confirmed that from now on Deeya’s character of Ria Kaushik will be played by SAB TV’s Left Right Left fame Swati Taldar. Her entry is expected to air on Friday (18 May 2012) or coming Monday (21 May 2012).

After bringing up trend setting shows and highly adored love stories in the form of Star One’s Geet Hui Sabse Parayi and the ongoing Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon aired on Star Plus, Four Lions is now planning to bring a bi-weekly thriller for Star. 

It was reported earlier too that the production house is keen on making a show based on thriller and they are currently on the hunt for the perfect faces. The show is said to have the right mix of action, thriller and romance.

Now the latest update that we have got for you states that Shaleen Malhotra and Sana Khan have been signed in to play the male and female lead, respectively. Shaleen has his fame via his stint in MTV Roadies whereas Sana won hearts playing the charming Lavanya in IPKKND. Though both the actors refused to give any confirmation regarding the same but we have heard from sources that the show has shot the pilot. More likely, it will hit the production floor by June 2012. 

Shaleen is supposed to play a cop in the show and earlier this role was offered to Pracheen Chauhan, currently seen in Zee TV’s Choti Bahu. But Shaleen has surpassed Pracheen by bagging the meaty role.

It looks like SAB TV has got in a new way of boosting up the TRPs of its shows. Last, it was Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which got a new set made. The whole of Gokuldham society was renovated and the news had bagged a lot of hype.

Following the trend, this time SAB TV has built new set for Edit II Productions’ FIR. Sources say that the sitcom has now got a new set in Malad, Mumbai and now it looks bigger, brighter and better. In fact, the jail too has become more spacious.

Does that mean inspector Chandramukhi Chautala (Kavita Kaushik) will have the ease to catch and put more of thieves behind the bars. Anyway, the unit members are highly delighted with the new set and are thankful to the channel for bringing in this change.

When sources got in touch with Aamir Ali, he said, “Yes, we are shooting on the new set. It’s bigger, better, vibrant and colorful. The show is doing well, hence the renovation. We all are really happy shooting on the new set.”

He further added, “And it has a wonderful air conditioner too. We wanted a bigger and better place. We will gradually starting shooting in the new place.”

As the show met the end roads, Karan shot for a film called Lorrie which is based on Wica Ipsita Roy Chakravorty's The Loving Doll, opposite Diana Hayden.     

Diana is said to be playing an actress in the film while Karan essays her husband. The film was shot in Bangkok but if believe the latest buzz then it might not get released as it has failed to get the buyers. 

Though a few say that the film will hit the screens by the year end but more likely facts indicate towards it also getting scrapped thus ending Karan’s Bollywood journey!

Colors’ dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa - Dancing with the stars is gearing up for the mega treat it is going to showcase for its fans.

As promised, the makers are trying their best to incorporate a star studded line up. But if go by the recent developments then executing the plans won’t be a cakewalk for Colors! As known, for the season five, Jhalak has approached big names of TV world like Karan Tacker aka Viren from Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Giaa Manek aka Gopi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Hina Khan aka Akshara from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Now the catch is that all these shows are aired on Star Plus and interestingly they are the major TRP gainers too. Missing of any of these leads from their respective daily is sure to hamper the shows’ numbers and Star Plus is not just ready for this. Buzz states that both Star and Colors are heading towards a silent war.

Star has warned the actors to make their move smartly as while choosing for one they might have to lose out on the other. It has been heard that Hina, who had earlier given her confirmation to Jhalak, has withdrawn her name owing to the pressure from Star Plus.        

Negotiations are still on with Giaa and there are speculations that she might get replaced if she signs Jhalak. Talking about the same, Giaa told the sources, "I'm not bound to any Channel. I'm with a production house and it’s our mutual decision to either say yes or no to the show."

Aamir Ali denies doing Sony TV's next

TV actor Aamir Ali is dealing with the rumors that talk of his presence in Adhikari Brothers’ new show on Sony TV, which as heard is going to be a love story.

In the recent past it was updated that the show will see Star Plus’ Maryada fame Raqesh Vashisth and Kahin To Hoga girl Aamna Sharif. Just a day back, it was even brought into the news that Deepshikha Nagpal will also make her return in the fiction world with this show.

And now everyone is talking about the handsome Aamir Ali playing one of the leads in this daily. It is notable that Aamir, who is currently doing SAB TV’s FIR, has shows like Kya Dill Mein Hai and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii to boast of. Other than acting, he even won Nach Baliye 3 with real life partner Sanjeeda Sheikh.

So it never came as a surprise to all when Aamir’s name was called for the show. However, the actor has denied all rumors and has set it straight that he hasn’t been offered any such role. Furthermore, Aamir even said that currently his focus is completely on FIR and there are no other projects beyond that. 

Well, as fans we would have always loved to see Aamir doing some substantial roles but in the end, it’s of course the actor’s wish!
