Mercedes Benz, the
luxury car making brand, has kept its promise for future launch of an
electric version of its SLS AMG car series. The brand had earlier
announced the car to be launched by the end of June 2013.
However, the car namely Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive had been showcased in the Paris Auto Show 2012, in which a brief overview of the concept and its features were also shared by the brand’s manager.
On seeing the picture of this car, I firstly imagined such a vibrant color in reality and then thought as if I could have seen the car live. I would like to say that the launchedSLS AMG Electric Drivehas stunning blue color paint on it and the car’s grille and front intakes have also been painted with the same color.
As per their promise, the company has announced the car to be launched in masses in June 2013. However, the car is still announced to be launched in Europe and no signs have been made by Benz brand to launch the car in USA.
The brief features of car are here in this post. The car has been powered by batteries of Li-Ion type that control the movement of the car. The battery weight is 1200 pounds. The car is fully electric and will take 20 hours for charging to a full level using the house hold switches. The car is capable to run for 150 miles when it is full charged.
The company has announced to launch the quick charging technique with the launch of the car. Talking about the performance of the car, it would be able to 750 hp which is about 200 hp more than that of the SLS AMG gasoline variants.
The car is capable to achieve the top speed of 250 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. The body of the car has been made from the carbon fibers, which thereby introduces the additional strength to the car.
The four motors individually work for the four wheels of the car to produce collective torque of 737 pound-feet. The price of the car in Europe would be 416500 euros and inUSAit would cost above $5000000.
