59th National Film Award announced; Vidya bags Best Actress for “Dirty Picture” |

Bollywood Actress Vidya Balan won the Best Actress award for her performance in the film 'Dirty Picture' in the 59th National Film Awards 2011 announced in New Delhi today. Girish Kulkarni won the Best actor Award in the Marathi Film Deool. The films Deool in Marathi and Byari language jointly won the Best Feature Film Award. The Award for Best Direction was won by the film "Anhe Gohrey Daan" ( Punjabi film) directed by Gurvider Singh. The film 'Chillar Party' bagged the Best children's film award. The best Child Artist award was jointly won by child artists in the Hindi films Stanley ka Dabba and Chillar Party. The Indira Gandhi Award for the Best Debut film of a Director was won by the Tamil film Aaranya kandam Directed by Kamararaja Thiagarajan. "I Am" won the National award for the best Hindi film. Anand Bhate won the Best male playback singer Award in the Marathi film Balagandharva, while the best female Playback singer award was baggged Roopa Ganguly in Bengali film Abosheyshey. The Award for Best Cinematography was won by Cameraman Satya Rai Nagpaul for the Punjabi film Anhe Ghorey Da Daan. The Best Music Direction Award was won by Neel Daat for the Songs in the Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbo Na. Chairman of the Jury, Ms. Rohini Hathangady said, Vidya Balan has been awarded the best actress award for her brave and effortless performance portraying the rise and fall of a B grade actress in the film Dirty picture. |
