Roopal Tyagi, known for her performance in tele-serials was recently in Bangalore to showcase a new bridal collection for a store. Roopal has acted in many tele-serials  like Vivaah, Gunjan Roli and Dil Mil Gaye and will now be seen acting in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. When City Express interacted with Roopal Tyagi, she spoke at length about her future plans, her memorable experiences in Bangalore city and journey from a choreographer to an actress. Roopal who started her career as a choreographer assisting Pony Verma, is now looking for opportunities to act in the South Indian film industry. Speaking about her plans of bagging more roles in tele-serials, she said, “I love dancing any day rather than choreography. Initially while choreographing the songs, I faced lot of difficulties. It was sheer hard work to hire the staff and to build contacts in the industry. Later, I wanted to prove myself as an actress. Now I think, I am a better actress than a dancer or a choreographer.”Roopal who was born and raised in Bangalore, moved to Mumbai in search of opportunities and shaping a career in choreography. Presently, she is on a visit to South Indian cities to build contacts with producers and directors. Is she acting in any South Indian films now? “Nothing concrete so far. I’m looking forward to grabbing an opportunity that will give me a good platform to build my career and showcase my talent,” she added. When asked about her plans to act in Bollywood films, she said, “I would like to go step-by-step. My concentration now lies in my upcoming tele-serial Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and South Indian films. prepared with cabbage which blends well with coconut, but I am unfamiliar with the name,” she signed off with a smile.
Roopal has noticed a tremendous shift in the kind of stories that are coming on television these days. She is glad that now people have decided to look beyond the typical saas-bahu format. “There is a lot of scope for realistic stories. Moreover, with the new high definition (HD) cameras being used for filming, one doesn’t even have to pile on layers of make-up. I remember how I used to sit for hours with so much make-up with my skin never getting any rest. Now, even minimum make-up can do the trick,” she reveals.

Not many are aware that the actress has grown up in the City.

“I did my schooling in Sophia High School and have many fond memories of this City. My parents still live here so every time I get a break, I come here,” she adds.

So does she plan to jump to the big screen? “Given a good script, I would love to act in films. I want to debut in the Kannada film industry and work with Puneeth Rajkumar and Ganesh. There are so many good artistes and technicians here that I want to work with,” she signs off.
