The TRPs of TV shows have seen a slight downfall owing to the hoopla created by IPL. As the fact remains, cricket is followed in India like religion and when one has so many players battling out to prove the excellence then daily soaps are sure to go for a toss.
Super-hyped cricket season does impact the shows running on different GECs and numbers plummet like a house of cards. DJ’s A Creative Unit’s show, I Luv My India, aired on SAB TV has already bitten the dust but actors of Fireworks Productions’ show Gutur Gu on the same channel are in a pretty optimistic frame of mind.
They are having different perceptions to hold the scene. One of the actors from the show Kunal Kumar who plays Ballu Kumar said, “The success of Gutur Gu lies on a lot of factors. Firstly, it’s a weekly and viewers have something fresh to see every week. There are many variations to watch out for in the show and I don’t think IPL has affected it in anyways. Viewers still love it,”
On the other hand, Bhavna Balsawer aka Mrs Babita Kumar shares, “The show is doing really well and it is unique and interesting. We connect to the viewers and we have loyal audiences who watch our show irrespective of other happenings on television.”
